"Anthropology is the most humanistic of the sciences and the most scientific of the humanities." - Alfred Kroeber, cultural anthropologist
The NIU Anthropology Club is an organization of students interested in anthropology - the study of humankind, past and present. Our main objective is to encourage a multicultural view of the world and to have fun doing it. Our goal as a club is to share with the NIU community the value that anthropology has to offer, and to provide a place where people who share an interest in the study of humankind can come to share, learn, and discover together.
Most of our group includes anthropology majors and minors, but students of any major who have an interest are welcome to any of our meetings and events.
As a student organization we promote out-of-classroom experiences in the form of fun and enriching activities. Some of our events include lectures, talks, dinning, and movies. Come check out one of our meetings to talk to current members and learn more about what Anthropology Club has to offer!
